Types of Glass
Normal everyday glass – called Annealed
Absorbs 99% ultraviolet (uv) rays thereby helps protect your furnishings against fading
Noise control – the layer in the middle of the two pieces of glass dampens sound – great for traffic , dogs, aircraft , trains etc
Increase security – its more difficult to penetrate – like a modern car windscreen
Grade A safety glass that is 4-5 x stronger than normal glass – used in areas as specified by NZ Safety Standards. The glass is put through a tempering process to toughen it.
Reduces solar heat gain , UV and glare inside your house.
Gives increased privacy.
Low E, increases the insulating effect, heat loss = energy saver
At manufacturing a process is applied to enhance the insulating when made into a double glazed unit.
